My Photoshop Daguerreotype

So this is my final product of my effort within Photoshop, you can see the original image below. I feel that this attempt has been successful making the image look like a Daguerreotype although it will never look as good a a true original as the process is unique and creates affects which are extremely hard to replicate. As you can see when comparing to the original that there has been a complete change in what was a studio colour portrait. I have also added blur in certain places of the image to give the really effect of a Daguerreotype as the first sitters of this process would often moves creating blur, it is also made by the rubbing during the process. The scratches are a good affect but i feel when i look at the image i am distracted from the detail and are moved around the image at these scratches which have no purpose but to make the images look like something it is not so this is bad for the images art quality.
