Caffenol

What is this Caffenol?
Caffenol is a home made developer for the "working man ", its clue is in the name that is is made with caffeine. The most commonly used source of caffeine is coffee, this is due to its high contents and cheapness. Doing this developer has characteristics which can put affects on your prints and film.

Prints
This developer is one which can be adapted to the darkroom from paper to give a stained affect.

This images is one that has been toned with coffee in the darkroom as you can see that the affect is a sepia like stain on the paper. By doing this affect you can immediately suggest that this is a vintage style image as this affect would naturally only happen in old faded photographs. When doing this technique to this photography to you can also aid your message like this photo, by placing this effect on the photo you could suggest that dog racing is a old sport as the images seems to be old.

I will be trying this technique for myself with a 35mm film (B&W). In this shoot i will be shooting in a vintage style of subject also to the technique as this was the improvements from my last shoot.
